Bhubaneswar: October 23: Commissionerate of Police arrested Journalist Abhijit Iyer Mitra today evening over his derogatory remarks against Odisha legislators and the Konark temple.
This was informed to the media by Twin City Police Commissionerate.
Iyer was brought to Saheed Nagar Police Station here at Bhubaneswar for interrogation with a case registered on September 20 and further, he was forwarded to Court.
Earlier today, Abhijit Iyer Mitra appeared before the House Committee of the Odisha Assembly over his alleged anti-Odisha remarks and blatant breach of Privilege by issuing derogatory remarks on Odisha, Konark Sun Temple and State MLAs.
Abhijit Iyer Mitra has been directed to appear before the house committee on November 02 and also to file an affidavit.
