Bhubaneswar: October 23: Pinkathon team had organized a run for women health awareness at Bhubaneswar on October 21. Fitness goal for Pinkathon is to push for fitness as a lifestyle so that, society will have healthier women at all households. It was a 5km run and there were more than 150 women participants and other volunteers witnessed the event. Mousumee Mishra, Pinkathon Ambassador flagged offs the run and she was ably supported by other two ambassadors, Indira Priyadarshini and Biswanath. Former Olympian Aruradha Biswal also participated to cheer up the runners.
Pinkathon is India’s Biggest Women’s run founded by Milind Soman and Reema Sanghavi, was created with the objective of spreading awareness about women’s health related issues like breast cancer. Through the Pinkathon we encourage women to adopt health and fitness in their daily lifestyles by means of running.
The Pinkathon, organized by the United Sisters Foundation is conceived as more than just a running event. More than 11,000 women across 5 countries and 63 cities had participated in a 5 kms run to showcase their solidarity towards the cause.
Using COMMUNITY RUNNING as a tool, Pinkathon wants to empower and enable thousands of women across India to bring positive physical change into their lives.
The Pinkathon route was from KIIT square up to Sailashree Vihar Road (2.5km) and back to KIIT square. The finishers were provided with medals and e-certificate. .
