‘Common User Petroleum Facility’, the Project by Oil Marketing Companies will be built at Sadashivpur, Tentulipada of Dhenkanal District.

This unit shall have a major role to play for the growing Industrial Development of Dhenkanal District for next 30-40 years. Also, it will take care of the demand for petroleum products in Anugul, Deogarh, Keonjhqr and western Odisha, including the district, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said while laying Foundation stone for a common user petroleum facility on Saturday.

Informing about Government of India’s plan, Union Minister said, there will be a waterway from Paradip and Dhamra to Talcher and steam will operate on this route.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone in presence of MoS, petroleum & natural gas, Rameswar Teli, local MP Mahesh Sahoo and MLA Seemarani Nayak. Union Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri joined the programme through video conference.

Dhenkanal, Anugul, Deogarh, Keonjhar Districts are rich in minerals. Also, steel, aluminum, and power generation companies such as Tata Steel, Nalco, Jindal and NTPC are there in this area. In view of this, to undivided Dhenkanal district has great potential and the project is being built with the aim of making it a leading region, Pradhan said.

This Rs. 365 crore project will be used by 3 oil marketing companies such as Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL.

It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology with a capacity of 42,000 kilolitre. This will an automated storage depot or oil terminal and will be built on ​​50 acres of area, which shall preserve petrol, diesel, ethanol, and biodiesel.
