Bhubaneswar, March 18: The Congress candidate Friday bagged the post of Chairman in the Koraput Municipality when its candidate  Bhagaban Bahinipati piped rival BJD candidate Sanjulata Rout by a single vote. While Bahinipati secured 11 votes out of a total 21 seats, Rout could muster only 10. Notably, both the Congress and BJD have 10 seats each. The election was necessitated after former Chairman Biswabhusan Patnaik, an independent candidate, resigned onFebruary 1 this year over allegations of harassment by a woman councillor belonging to the Congress.
