Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: In the 12-hour Odisha bandh called by the Congress today, the Police arrested more than a hundred Congress workers in Bhubaneswar, including many students Congress leaders, as the Congress members protested and clashed with police while trying to force their ways into the State Secretariat.
One of the protestors said that they would not allow the Chief Minister to enter the Secretariat and the shutdown across Odisha shows how the sentiments of people have been hurt because of the Mahanadi issue due to the careless attitude of the CM.
Besides this, the Mahila Congress activists also staged a demonstration in front of Secretariat main gate in Bhubaneswar alleging that during a scuffle at Master Canteen Square, the gent’s police forcibly took them to the police van, without the help of women police officials, and misbehaved with them. They also demanded for immediate action against the responsible police officials.
