Cuttack, March 12: The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here has allowed the Commissionerate of Police to shift the arrested Dhalasamant brothers from the Choudwar jail where the criminal siblings are lodged at present.

While the court asked the police to take elder brother Sushant Dhalasamant to Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar, it ordered to shift younger brother Sushil Dhalasamant to Balasore jail.

At present, Sushant is lodged in Ward no-3 of Cell no-2 of the Choudwar jail whereas his younger brother Sushil is lodged in Ward no-5 of Cell no-3.

Notably, on March 1, the Commissionerate of Police had made an appeal before the SDJM court asking for permission to shift the Dhalasamant brothers from the Choudwar Circle Jail to other jails in the State for security reasons.

Intensifying collection of evidence against the Dhalasamant brothers, the Commissionerate of Police would write to different departments seeking information which could help it in its probe against the criminal siblings.

Meanwhile, Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania said, the police will write a letter to the concerned department to pass any information it feels necessary to it.

Sources said the Commissionerate of Police has already sent notices to CMC, R&B and RD departments to provide information related to the arrested D-brothers.

The twin city police are planning to reopen old files including four abduction cases which were shut due to lack evidences against the D-brothers.

Khurania said that some kidnapping cases are in our focus. Review is being done about those cases. If any new evidence comes out during the investigation, the police seek the court’s permission for reopening of those cases.
