India has reported 22,775 fresh Covid-19 Cases in a span of 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. In the same time period, 406 patents succumbed to the disease and with this, total death toll increased to 4,81,486.

8,949 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,42,75,312.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.32%.

However, the active caseload jumped to 1,04,781 which constitute 0.30 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.

The Omicron infection tally has increased to 1,431 across the nation. However, of the total cases, 488 have been discharged from hospitals. So far, 23 states have reported Omicron infections, the Ministry said.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,10,855 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 67.89 Cr (67,89,89,110) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.10%and the Daily Positivity rate also reported to be 2.05%.
