Kendrapara, Mar 31: Yesterday the cops here and in neighbouring Jagatsingpur districts nabbed a criminal gang who had created a terror atmosphere in these two places. Sharp weapons such as improvised revolver, live cartridges, a live bomb and two motor cycles have been seized from their possession. The police caught them red handed when they were conspiring to commit another crime, by tracking their cellphones.
The arrested criminals have been involved in three bomb blast incidents that have taken place in the last one and a half month. Also, they have a hand in various extortion crimes during that month. These criminals used to target contractors and employees of construction firms for protection money. Two JCB machines in Patkura police station areas have been set ablaze by the gang as the construction firm owners refused to go as per them. This was informed by the Kendrapara Superintendent of Police, Mr. Dayanidhi Gochayat.
