Customer Awareness Campaigning on Cashless Transactions

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday launched the Customer Awareness Campaigns for digital transactions as a flagship BPCL Retail Outlet BP Bhubaneswar, located at Chandrasekharpur here.

This Customer Awareness Campaign focuses at spreading digital awareness and facilitating the common man to use Cashless payment options during day to day transactions. With the introduction of Cashless payments options, like Credit and Debit cards, POS terminals, e-wallet options and Loyalty Cards at Retail Outlets, the campaign reinforces the fact that convenience lies in being cashless in today’s time. The various digital payment solutions available to the general public were also showcased.

Carrying forward PM Narendra Modi vision of cashless society by moving towards cashless economy, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, along with other two Oil PSUs have embarked on the mission of providing cashless transactions at all Fuel stations across their network. Fuel stations, where significant transaction takes place, mostly transact on cash, with only 15-20% transaction through cashless mode. Therefore there is a need to move towards cashless transactions at Fuel station quickly.

For this purpose only, all service providers have been bought on board and a MoU has been signed with Common Service Centers (CSCs) of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, who will be deploying trainers at Oil Marketing Companies’ Retail Outlets across the country to train the general public on use of various Digital/Cashless payment modes and to promote them. Tie-ups have been Public Sector banks, Paytm, Mobikwik, Oxygen, Citrus, Olamoney, Idea Money, Jiomoney Airtel Money, Vodafone MPS, freecharge etc. the Customer Awareness cum training programmes will subsequently spread to all Retail Outlets across the country.

Today’s Customer Awareness Campaign for Digital transactions is yet another for consumer empowering initiative launched by MOP and NG and a step forward promoting the vision of #Cashless Economy of PM Modi.
