Bhubaneswar: May 02: Cyclone Fani is likely to make landfall on the Odisha Coast between 8am and 10am in the morning of May 3. Earlier, it was being forecast that Fani will make landfall in late afternoon of May 3.
The landfall will start between these two hours and continue up to 12.00 o clock in the afternoon.
According to IMD, it will make the landfall anywhere between Gopalpur and Chandbali area. At the time of landfall, wind will gust between 170 to 200 kmph.
Evacuation process is on and expecting an early landfall, the process of evacuation has been expedited.
Speeding over West central Bay of Bengal, Fani moved north-northeast wards and lay centred about 360 Km south-southwest of Puri (Odisha), 190 Km south-southeast of Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and 550 km south-southwest of Digha (West Bengal).
