Cyclone May Form After 8th May; Its Path & Intensification Is Yet To Be Known

Bhubaneswar: May 03: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday, a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal around 6th May’2023. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the same region around 7th May.

It is likely to concentrate into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal on 8th May. Thereafter, there is a good possibility of its intensification while moving nearly northwards towards the Central Bay of Bengal.

It has further said, the system is under constant watch and being monitored regularly. The details of its path and intensification will be provided after the formation of the Low-Pressure area.

Odisha Chief Minister ordered officials and departments to prepare for cyclones.If necessary, he advised moving vulnerable low-lying residents to cyclone shelters.

He ordered the Chief Secretary to monitor the situation and the Special Relief Commissioner to collaborate with all departments.
