D-Brothers alleged partners in crime interrogated by ED in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Mar 2: Today in connection with the financial dealing with the criminal siblings, Dhalasamant brothers, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) grilled more than five businessmen including scrap dealer Bhola Bhagat. During the course of its investigation, the Commissionerate Police came to know about the involvement of Bhagat in the criminal activities of the brothers. It also came to fore that Bhagat’s vehicle was used to carry the bodies of Om and Dipu, the henchmen of Dhalasamant brothers who were murdered inside a farm house at Khuntakata in Athagarh block in Cuttack, to Jharkhand to perform the last rites. But Bhagat denied having any business links with the Dhalasamants. He is now on on bail. As Dhalasamant brothers were involved in various illegal business including extortion, tender fixing, sand quarry auction and scrap dealing, ED is trying to dig out more information on their crime syndicate and modus operandi. Former Councillor of Rourkela, Asesh Mohanty, was also interrogated by the ED officials on charges of forcibly taking Rs 24 lakh cash from a super class contractor. Five more persons including Pranakrushna Rout were quizzed upon their business links with the D-brothers but however Rout denied of having any links with the brothers.
