Bhubaneswar, Aug 3:To raise funds for AIM for Seva, a voluntary organization working for unprivileged children, Sharmila Biswas, a noted Indian classical dancer and choreographer in Odissi, will perform in the city today. A combination of three Indian classical dance forms Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi and Odissi has been directed and choreographed by Sharmila named ‘Antar-yatra, the journey within’. She has also used the art of puppetry and the folk dance of Tamil Nadu ‘Pinnal Kollattam’ along with the three dance forms.
Dancers Srijan Chatterjee, Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya, Amrita Lahiri and Sashwati Garai Ghosh are also featured in the dance narrative.
The dance has already been showcased in cities like Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore. Bookmyshow, Explara and GoEventz are the companies selling the donor passes for the programme.
