Subarnapur, Jan 6: In another suicidal incident, a farmer named Chakradhaa Rajahans, when unable to pay loans taken from banks, allegedly committed suicide.

The incident happened at Manikapur village in Biramaharajpur. It’s stated that on consuming pesticide, Rajahans committed suicide.

The family members of the deceased informed that Rajahans had taken a bank loan of Rs 50,000 from the State Bank of India’s Musurandi branch and Rs 55,000 more as agricultural loan from the Musurndi cooperative society. Apart from that, he had also taken loan from two other private financing institutions.

But, drought situation led to heavy crop loss which put Rajahans in deep stress. Later, he took the extreme step of suicide as he knew that he would be unable to repay the loans.
