Dengue fears continues; Schools to be closed for three days

Bhubaneswar, July 11: Number of deaths increased to three due to dengue when Tuna Naik a dengue affected patient died on Sunday in Cuttack’s SCB Medical Collage and Hospital. He was being treated at the ICU of SCB hospital.

 54 dengue affected patients  are under treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital, out of them two are in critical condition.

Earlier, two patients died at district headquarter hospital, Keonjhar and Barbil Community Health Centre.

434 persons have positive report out of 1240 blood sample collected in Kenojhar.

After this incident district collector of Keonjhar has advised to close the schools i.e., both government and private running schools in Barbil Municipal area for three days .

 An emergency meeting  held at Cuttack district collector’s residential office to tackle the situation.

At Jagatpur a mobile health team will create awareness among the people with  ASHA and Anganwadi workers. All blood blank’s officials has been directed to facilitate free blood platelets to patient, sources said.

The emergency meeting has been conducted in the presence of Cuttack Mayor, CMC Commissioner. SCB Superintendent, and Cuttack Sadar sub-collector.
