DGP stresses prompt redressal of ‘Ama Police Samiti’ issues

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: Odisha Police DGP KB Singh has stressed the need for police officers to promptly address issues of members of ‘Ama Police Samiti’.

 Speaking at a one-day training programme (third phase) for officers associated with Odisha Community Policing Scheme ‘Ama Police’ at Biju Patnaik State Police Academy here Wednesday, Singh expressed his satisfaction over the scheme now introduced in 504 police stations across Odisha. He added that reception centres and Mahila and Sishu Desks should be made functional at each police station to complement the objectives of community policing.

 The one day training programme covered issues like concepts and practices of ‘Ama Police’, national and international best practices, Kerala Police Community Policing Scheme, ‘Janamaitri’ and effective communication.

 As many as 160 officers from across Odisha attended the training programme. Similar training modules will be conducted in this calendar year to include all the officers associated with implementation of ‘Ama Police’, said sources.
