Koraput, Mar 2: Today in connection with the Dharmendra Pradhan’s chopper landing row, the Odisha Revenue Clerks’ Association conducted a cease work thus demanding that the suspension order of 11 staff of the Koraput District Collectorate against whom the disciplinary action was taken by the Collector, to be withdrawn. In retaliation to the decision of the Collector, the clerks sat on a dharna and demanded government to repeal the suspension and cancel the transfer of some officials. Officials of 14 districts supported the stir.
The clerks stated that if the demands would not be taken care of, they would continue the cease work stir.
On Feb 13 as there was a delay in giving the permission for landing of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s chopper at Borigumma, the Koraput Collector suspended a junior clerk Krushna Chandra Pradhan and transferred an ADM and an assistant collector. Later when the Collectorate staff protested the action taken against Pradhan and two officials, 10 other clerks were also suspended on charges of duty negligence.
