Bhubaneswar, Sep 3: A horrifying incident took place yesterday in Gokan village under Pipli’s police station limits in Puri disitrct, where the in-laws and husband of a woman allegedly burnt her to death for dowry.
The Pipli police have taken into custody the victim, Mili Pradhan’s husband named Naba Pradhan and her mother-in-law for being responsible behind the murder. After blazing her, Naba and his mother took Mili to the Capital Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. The victim’s brother, Prabhat Kumar Baral informed the police during the investigation that the couple used to have fights frequently after their marriage and it’s the husband and his family who have killed his sister. He also said that Naba used to send Mili to her parent’s house to get money. He used to beat her after taking booze. Just a few days back Mili’s brother had given Naba Rs 10,000 to purchase a motorcycle.
Investigation is on, informed Kavita Sahu, the Sub-inspector of Pipli Police Station.
