Droupadi Murmu Arrives in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu arrived at the Biju Pattnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar in a special flight of the Air Force this afternoon on a five-day visit to Odisha.

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, CM Mohan Majhi, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and others greeted the President on her arrival and welcomed her.

Soon after landing at the airport, the President directly went to the Chandrasekhapur to inaugurate Pandit Raghunath Murmu’s statue. After this, she will have a night halt at the Raj Bhavan.

On Wednesday, she will leave for Puri Srimandir at 9 am and will attend the Diamond jubilee of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Vollege, Puri as the Chief Guest.

After having her lunch at Puri Raj Bhavan at 12 PM, the President is slated to attend the Navy Day celebrations as their Chief Guest and spend the night at the Raj Bhavan after the mega celebrations.

President Murmu will return from Puri on Thursday at 9.35 AM and reach the Bhubaneswar airport and then will go to attend the 40th convocation ceremony of Odisha University of Agricultural and Technology (OUAT) at 10.50 AM. Thereafter, she will inaugurate the Bhubaneswar-based Judicial Court Complex at 5.10 PM. She will return to Raj Bhawan after the inauguration ceremony around 6.30 PM.

As per her schedule, the President will interact with students and villagers of Uparbeda in Mayurbhanj district on December 6. On the same day, at Rairangpur, she will also interact with students and teachers of Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Rairangpur.

On December 7, the President will lay foundation stones/inaugurate various projects including Bangiriposi-Gorumahisani; Buramara-Chakulia; and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh Rail Lines; Tribal Research and Development Centre, Rairangpur; Dandbose Airport, Rairangpur and Sub-Divisional Hospital, Rairangpur before leaving for Puri.
