Durga Puja Safety: Police officials all in action 24*7 in Twin Cities

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: In order to control vehicular traffic movement and to maintain order and safety in the twin cities during Durga Puja festivities and also at the time of idol immersion, the Commissionerate Police has made necessary arrangements arrangements on a large scale. This was informed by Police Commissioner YB Khurania yesterday to the media after a review meeting at the Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. Around five additional DCPs, 18 ACPs, 25 Inspectors, 180 Sub Inspectors and ASI, 100 Havaldars, 400 Constables and 54 police forces have been deployed at all areas during this festive occasion. In the capital city 32 platoons of policemen have been mobilized. Also CCTVs have been installed at various Puja Pandals.

Other than all this restrictions have been imposed on the entry of heavy vehicles into the city from 4 pm to 2 am. In Cuttack, one way traffic system from 5pm to midnight is arranged from today. Police aid posts were set up at different places.

Apart from this, mobile and foot patrolling has been intensified. The Quick Reaction Team (QRT) and Striking Force have also been placed everywhere. Contingency plans are also made up in order to tackle any contingency circumstances.

Most importantly he informed that all these arrangements have been made keeping in mind the date when Muharram and Durga Puja will be celebrated on the same day.
