Bargarh, Apr 10: With the death of an employee of Bargarh Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd in its campus on Sunday night during work, tension has erupted in the district that has continued for long. The other outraged employees have staged dharna demanding compensation to the family of the deceased and security to the employees working in the organisation. The name of the deceased is Ramlal Gupta, a resident of Bihar. He was working as an operator in the Sugar Mill for last 30 years. Sanjay Kumar Gupta, son of Ramlal, alleged that had the company provided enough security like mask and helmet then such incidents could have been avoided and so the company is responsible behind Gupta’s death. On the other hand, Administrative Officer of the Sugar Mill, Nilamadhab Nayak stated that upon discussions held by the Board, insurance amount will be paid to the family of the deceased and another person of the family will be employed and compensation amount of Rs 1 lakh will also be given.
