Bhubaneswar: July 5: Four Maoists were killed in Odisha’s Kandhamal District on Sunday Morning. As reported, Special Operation Group and District Voluntary Force were conducting a combing operation in Sirla Forest Area of Kandhamal District of Odisha and Maoists opened fire on them. Security forces retaliated.

During the exchange of fire between Security Forces and Maoists, four Maoists were killed.

Odisha Police tweeted, “There was an exchange of fire between Maoists and SOG, DVF at Tumudibandha, Kandhamal. Security forces were fired upon and they retaliated in self defence. There are four casualties on Maoists side. Some of them are injured. Combing operations are on in the area. SP is at the spot’.

Police seized huge amount of arms and ammunition from the spot.
