Koraput/Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: Yesterday the Odisha government debarred the Executive Engineer of Works department, Biranchi Mohanty for gross negligence of duty resulting in the delay in the arrival of chief minister’s helicopter at Kotpad in Koraput. Works secretary Nalinikanta Pradhan informed to media and said that Mohanty had given wrong information to the pilot on longitude and latitude of Kotpad following which the pilot could not get the exact location of Kotpad after he departed from Jeypore. However he finally arrived at Kotpad after he was given the correct information.

It’s stated that the Odisha CM had arrived in Jeypore yesterday morning from the Bhubaneswar airport in a helicopter during his one-day visit to Koraput. After winding up his Jeypore visit, he left for Kotpad at 12.35 PM. While he was expected to arrive Kotpad at 12.55 PM, there was no sign of the helicopter. Even the police and the district administration got panicked about the delay in the arrival of the chief minister. There was a sign of relief among the officials after the helicopter finally arrived at Kotpad at about 1.25 PM.

Later, Koraput SP Charan Singh Meena said that the police will probe into the delay in the arrival of the helicopter.
