Expired saline bottles administered to malaria patients at Dukura CHC in Mayurbhanj, Odisha

Baripada, Mar 10: A hassle was created at the Dukura Community Health Centre in Mayurbhanj here when families of three hospitalized patients suffering from Malaria noticed that the patients are being given expired saline during treatment. The name of the three patients being Maieen Tudu, Basanti Sardar and Sabita Bindhani, were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night. The doctors at the hospital administered saline to three of them. Soon after that, the three complained of suffocation and swollen body. Soon one of the patient’s relative noticed that the saline has been expired, the families then noticed and created a ruckus over the gross medical negligence. The relatives have alleged that the doctors have administered that have been expired since January. However, the hospital authorities took way the saline bottles after a complaint was made.
