Former Indian Captain Kapil Dev resigns as Chief of CAC

New Delhi: October 03: Former captain of Indian Cricket Team Kapil Dev has resigned as the chairman of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) after Shanta Rangaswamy stepped down from the 3-member Committee. He has not given any specific reason behind leaving the CAC. Kapil Dev has informed the Committee of Administrators (CoA) via email.

It is to be noted, Shanta Rangaswamy stepped down from the post after she along with Kapil Dev and Anshuman Gaekwad was served Conflict of Interest notice by BCCI’s ethics officer DK Jain in September 2019.

Permanent member of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association Sanjiv Gupta had complained against the CAC members in September. In the complaint, Gupta had claimed that the CAC members were doing multiple cricketing roles.

Gupta said Kapil Dev is conflicted as he is a commentator, owner of a floodlight company, member of Indian Cricketers Association, besides his CAC role while he pointed out Shantha Rangaswamy’s multiple roles in the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) and CAC.
