Freedom fighter’s grandson Babula Panda returns home in Jeypore safe and sound

Koraput, May 12: Today, finally, freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda’s grandson Babula Panda reached home in Jeypore within high police security here on.

Babula Panda was discharged from the the SCB Medical College and Hospital here yesterday and was handed over to the Koraput police and the Commissionerate police. The Koraput police escorted him to his residence. Babula was being treated in the trauma care ICU of the SCB hospital from Apr 27. SCB Principal Dr Sidharth Das stated to media that Babula had been discharged at around 11 am in a stable condition. Necessary checkups have also been conducted in the neurology and cardiology departments. and he can now lead a normal life.

Panda stated to media that he is completely cured now after having all medical checkups of the eye, kidney and liver. Panda along with his family had come to the capital city to attend a ceremony at Raj Bhawan where the Prime Minister Modi felicitated his family on April 16. During their return, they got separated from each other. Panda’s mother Sujata Panda was rescued from Balasore railway station but son Panda went missing. Babula’s mother Sujata Panda had been crying asking for her son’s whereabouts.

Upon Panda reaching home, the family got a sigh of relief. Sujata expressed her happiness over her son’s safe return.
