Bhubaneswar, May 1: As per a notification from the state government, the paddy procurement for Rabi crop in 19 districts across the state will start from tomorrow and will continue till 30th of June,
The Paddy procurement committee has this year targeted to obtain at least 26 quintals of paddy for every acre from the farmers of Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur etc, while the the the committee will fetch 24 quintals from the other 16 district.
Following the procurement rules of the state government, the Bargarh DA will begin its procurement from May 5 and will continue till June 20th almost.
In comparison to last years 52 lakh metric tonne of procurement, the Odisha government has this year targeted to obtain 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.
