Odisha bowld out at 199; Gujrat trails by 263

Bhubaneswar, Dec 26: Odisha yesterday somehow managed to score 199 while losing all the wickets in the first innings against Gujarat in a quarterfinal match of the Ranji Trophy being played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur of Rajasthan. With a score of 148 runs and loss of eight wickets in the first innings, Odisha faced catastrophe from the beginning of the day and managed to add 15 runs only. The remaining batsmen of Odisha did not able to face the bowling of Gujarat bowlers and lost their wickets. While Govinda Poddar, Biplab Samantray, Dhiraj Singh were dismissed for ducks, Ranjit Singh scored a single and Subhranshu Senapati got out for a score of 30.

An unbeaten century by SB Gohil and an aggressive half-century knock by his opening partner PK Panchal has put Gujarat in driver’s seat against Odisha on the third day of the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal at Sawai Mansingh stadium here yesterday. After bundling out Odisha for 199 in their first innings in reply to their 263, Gujarat made solid start in their second innings as the two openers put up 149 runs for the first wicket. After the departure of Panchal who scored 81 off 116 balls, BH Merai and RH Bhatt got out quickly. But Gohil batted all through the day and remained not out on 110. At stumps, Gujarat were 246 for the loss of three wickets with an overall lead of 310 runs including the first innings lead of 64 runs over Odisha.
