Koraput, Oct 12: While attending a meeting with district Collector and other concerned officials on Wednesday, Arti Ahuja, Odisha Health Secretary reviewed the steps taken in Koraput to deal with Japanese Encephalitis (JE).
Ahuja reviewed the situation and said that people will be advised to keep pigs away for their villages.
By adding more preventive steps, Jaya Kumar V, Collector of Koraput said that more awareness will be created among people to keep animals away from them and they will also be advised to keep children at home during evening hours. Besides, officials will interact with people on what to do and not to do in this situation. By creating new check posts, the transportation of pigs from outside the district will be monitored, the Collector further added.
It may be noted that till now three children have died in Koraput district due to the suspected Japanese Encephalitis.
