Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: Tremendous rainfall preoccupied most parts of Odisha because of a low pressure area formed over the northwest of the Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal.

The low pressure is said to be active thus showing its effect in the coming 24 hours thus resulting in heavy rains in many places. The highest amount of rainfall is recorded in Sambalpur with a measure of around 204mm and Hirakud received rainfall of 169mm. Places like Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Khurda are also drowned with showers.
