Hike in Bus fares in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Dec 21:As the hike in the diesel price goes up put upon by the oil companies on Dec 16, the Odisha Government also hikes the fares of all passenger buses in Odisha as per the automatic fare adjustment mechanism. A notification was issued by the Commerce and Transport department according to which fares for Ordinary and Express buses were hiked by 1 paise per kilometer and fares for Deluxe and AC Deluxe buses were hiked by 2 paise per kilometer. Thus, from now the ticket price for Ordinary buses will be 60 paise per km that earlier had been 59 paise per km and the ticket price for Express buses will be 63 paise that earlier had been 62 paise per km. The ticket price for Deluxe buses will now be 84 paise per km that earlier had been 82 paise and AC Deluxe buses will be Rs 1.05 instead of the current Rs 1.03 paise per km. This is the 7th time in this year that the state government has increased the bus fares.
