Bhubaneswar, Apr 8: Film-maker, Nila Madhab Panda from Odisha wins a special mention at the 64th National Film Awards for his latest Hindi film Kadvi Hawa (Dark Wind). Madhab’s film is based on true stories on the peculiarity of nature especially the issue of climate change. The film shows the drought prone Bundelkhand and the disappeared villages of Coastal Odisha. Madhab has been successful in portraying its ill-effects on silver screen very carefully. Madhab stated to the media that the film is one such film that is a reflection of his life in Odisha that is prone to droughts, cyclone and other natural calamities. This recognition will help spread the message to more people across the world. He further stated that the film is about a man from Odisha’s Satbhaya, his journey to Chambal and challenges faced due to climate change. Madhab was acknowledged first for his film, ‘I Am Kalam’ and for that he has been honoured with the Padma Shri. His movies are basically based on social issues.
