Bhubaneswar:  July 8: Prof. Achyuta Samanta, a renowned educationist, social activist, and the founder of KIIT & KISS, received an honorary doctorate on Friday during the 9th convocation ceremony of Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri.

For his outstanding work in the fields of education and social service, he was awarded the honorary D.lit. “Prajnana-Vachaspati.” Prof. Samanta has been awarded 53 honorary doctorates; however, this is the first one from Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University. He received the doctorate from Professor Ganeshi Lal, the university’s chancellor and the governor of Odisha.

Eminent litterateur and educationist Pratibha Ray delivered the convocation address. She expressed her happiness over the honorary doctorate bestowed on Dr. Samanta and said that every university should award him an honorary doctorate for the work that he is doing for education and social service.

Dr. Samanta expressed his gratitude to the University authorities, University Syndicate members, and Education Council for selecting him for this honor. Dr Samanta said it is a privilege that he started his educational journey in Puri and get an honorary doctorate from this place. This will motivate him to do more for the society, he added.

University Chancellor Prof. Rabindra Panda and Registrar Sumitra Pattanaik were also present at the convocation ceremony.
