Bhubaneswar: November 7: Birla School of Management, Birla Global University organized an HR conclave on HR for Future Work Place on 3 November 2023.

The conclave was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Ramesh Chandra Joshi, Director (Finance) NALCO, Guest of Honour, Shri Anil Sinha (Advisor & Head HR, Jay Shree Tea & Industries Ltd. & Ex CHRO, Aditya Birla Group), Prof. P.P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, BGU, Dr. B. K. Das, Registrar, BGU and Prof. P. Nayak, Conclave Chair and Dean, Birla School of Management by lighting of lamp.

Shri Ramesh Chandra Joshi in his speech said that technology is here to supplement the HR functions, and not replace humans. He also said that innovative solutions will always be given by humans and not by machines.

Shri Anil Sinha in his speech said that HR has evolved from a basic administrator to a strategic role recognized as business partner, strategic innovator, and champion.

Shri Vipul Singh, Ex- Senior Vice President and Head HR, ADP who had joined online stressed on the need for developing digital and analytical skills to match the requirements of future jobs. Prof. Mathur spoke on the importance of having an effective HR function in every organization and technological advancement by emphasizing on uncertainty of time that always pays path to develop, upgrade and upscale the human potential.

Prof. Das shared his thoughts on the transition of HR from traditional staff department to modern Human Resources (HR) and also underlined the importance of HR in any organization. Prof. Nayak delivered the welcome address and emphasized on the need of humanizing workforce to manage diversity and to adopt inclusivity.

Dr. Archana Choudhary, Conclave Convenor set the tone of HR conclave by introducing the theme. The conclave had insightful discussions in panel discussions on Future of Jobs and HR Skills and Need for HR Innovation.

The conclave also hosted poster-making and case analysis, toon case and what if competition amongst students of various B Schools. The Conclave saw an overwhelming participation of students and delegates from various institutions.

The programme came to an end with Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Snigdha Mohapatra, HR Conclave Co-Convenor.
