Balasore, May 16: Today the vigilance officers arrested Inspector-in-charge (IIC) Surendra Beuria of Baliapal police station here on charges of taking bribe of Rs 10k. The IIC had demanded Rs 20k from the relative, of one Ganesh Chandra Mohapatra, who is stood accused in a land dispute, for not arresting Ganesh. Later for catching him red-handed, a trap was laid and the anti-corruption team caught the IIC red-handed when he was taking Rs 10,000 from Ganesh’s relative as bribe. As of now, the officials are interrogating the accused.
