Bhubaneswar: The regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubnaeswar today issued thunderstorm with lightning warnings for several districts of Odisha.
Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangapur, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh, said IMD while issuing yellow warning for the same till 8.30 AM tomorrow.
Likewise, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi and Kandhama, it added.
The weather department further said that thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak from 8.30 AM of June 1 to 8.30 AM of June 2.
