Puri, Mar 23: Today in connection to the Puri Swargadwar case, a meeting was conducted in the Circuit House. It was chaired by the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Central Zone. Among others, Puri Collector, SP and Settlement Officer were present in the meeting. Upon the completion of the meeting, Puri Collector Arvind Agrawal informed the media that Puri Shankaracharya has been asked to submit the necessary papers required for estimating the actual area of land.

It may be recalled that the 16-acre land was given for the Swargadwar by the Shankaracharya mutt but there is nothing in writing. Investigations is being carried out as to how offices and industries were built in the area and the land is transferred in whose name. Agarwal ha stated to the media that investigations are on to know under what circumstances the land transfer took place. As per primary probes, some part of the land had been transferred on permission by Shankarachary and a sale deed is also been registered in this regard. Agarwal further stated that only after going through all the case records, appropriate measures would be undertaken in order to get back the 16-acre land. The power of attorney will be scrutinized based on which the sale deed was registered. Shankaracharya mutt will also be asked to help in finding out whether the documents are genuine or forged.
