Bhubaneswar: Players of India and England cricket teams arrived in Bhubaneswar in a special flight this evening to play their second ODI match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. Soon after landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, the players directly went to May Fair Hotel amid tight security. On their arrival at the hotel, they were given a grand welcome with traditional dance.
Besides, a big welcome hoarding with flower decorations have been put up in front of the hotel, where all the necessary arrangements have been made for the sooth stay of the players. Several cricket lovers also had gathered infront of the hotel to have a glance of their favorite players and captured the special moment with their phones.
The Commissionerate Police also has set up a makeshift control room on the premises of the hotel to provide security to the players. support staff and the match officials. According to reports, a total of 96 rooms have been booked at May Fair for the accommodation of the teams and the support staff. Due to security reasons, the hotel has closed bookings for other guests until the departure of players.
Meanwhile, the Hotel May Fair has prepared a special menu for the players which include both local and continental food as per the recommendation of the dieticians. The snacks include Paneer pakoda, mushroom pakoda and various other items. Odia dishes like desi chicken, plain besher, different types of fish curry, dalma, and chakuli will be served. And also the menu has Chhenapodha, rasagola, manda, and kakara. There will also be millet items. Food will be prepared according to the dietitians.
Both the teams will go to the Barabati Stadium tomorrow for net practice ahead of the match on February 9. The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and Commissionerate Police along with other enforcement agencies have made elaborate arrangement for the match.
