August 28

India conceded its 45th innings defeat. Due to Score Board Pressure, Indian Batsmen collapsed on the fourth day as the team got defeated by an innings and 76-runs.

India Skipper Virat Kohli  said, “Basically, I will put it (collapse) down to scoreboard pressure. We knew we are up against a massive (354-run) lead after getting bowled out for 78′.

Kohli further said, Pressure from English bowlers was too good, and discipline, which  forced us to make mistakes.

On Saturday, India lost the last seven wickets  in 54 minutes and for only 41 runs. India was 237/3 and it lost all its wickets at 278.

Robinson took 5 runs just giving 65 runs while Craig Overton took three wickets and James Anderson had a wicket to his name. With this win, England have levelled the five-match series at 1-1.

The fourth Test between the two teams will start at The Oval from September 2.
Brief scores: India 78 and 278 all out in 99.2 overs (C Pujara 91, R Sharma 61, V Kohli 55, O Robinson 5/65, C Overton 3/47) vs England 432.

Earlier India had won the second Test at Lord’s due to the batting performance from the lower order — Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, who put up an unbeaten 89-run partnership – to take the game away from England and land in India’s kitty.
