Bhubaneswar: October 23: While India has become the second largest steel producers of the world, Indian steel manufacturers have to depend upon foreign countries for technology and equipment. For the growth of steel industry in the Country, we need to develop steel making technologies and equipment indigenously, said JSPL’s CEO (Steel Business) Mr. NA Ansai, while participating in a panel discussion during Conclave on Capital Goods for Steel Sector: Manufacture in India, organised at Bhubaneswar today by Ministry of Steel (GoI), in association with CII and Mecon.
He further said that for increasing our steel manufacturing to achieve the mission 2030 the country needs to improve capabilities for metallurgical equipment. We have good capacity in electrical equipment.
Former Steel Secretary Dr. Aruna Sharma chaired the panel discussion, which was co-chaired by Mr. Chairman of SAIL Mr. Anil Chaudhary and CMD of BHEL Mr. Atul Sobti.
