India registers over 49 K cases in a Day; Total count stands at 12.87 Lakh

Bhubaneswar: July 24: India has reported 49,310 new COVID-19 cases and 740 deaths in past 24 hours. With this, total COVID-19 cases in the Country increased to 12,87,945. On the other side, the total death toll reached 30,601.

According to Health Ministry’s data, at present there are 4,40,135 active cases in the Country and 8,17,208 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In past 24 hours, 34,602 patients have also recovered. The recovery rate has improved further to 63.45 per cent.

As per ICMR, a cumulative total of 1,54,28,170 samples have been tested up to July 23. And on 23 rd July, 3,52,801 samples have tested.

Among States, Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit State with 3,47,502 cases, followed by Tamilnadu (1,92,964), Delhi (1,27,364), Karnataka (80,863), Andhra Pradesh (72,711), Uttar Pradesh (58,104), Gujarat (52,477), West Bengal (51,757) and Telengana (50,826).

Also, Maharashtra has highest number of deaths i.e.12,854 so far, followed by Delhi (3,745), Tamilnadu (3232), Gujarat (2,252), Karnataka (1,616), Uttar Pradesh (1289) and West Bengal (1255).
