India reports 47,704 new COVID Positive cases and 654 deaths in 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: July 28: India reported 47,704 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday and with this, total count increased to 14,83,157 cases. Also, 654 deaths have been reported in 24 hours, taking the total fatalities to 33,425, as per the Health Ministry’s data updated at 8 am.

Health Ministry’s data further said, 9,52,743 patients have recovered so far, including 35,176 cases recovered in last 24 hours. The recovery rate further improved to 64.23 per cent. The total number of active cases are 4,96,988.

Among States, Maharashtra has registered 7,924 new cases and it’s total reached 3,83,723.

Tamilnadu is next to Maharashtra with 2,13,723 cases in total, followed by Delhi with 1,31,219 cases. It is interesting to know that, Delhi has recorded only 613 cases in a day.

On the other side, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have crossed one lakh-mark each. Andhra Pradesh’s total number of cases reached 1,02,349 with 1090 fatalities whereas Karnataka cases rose to 1,01,465 with 1,953 fatalities.

Four more States have already crossed 50 K Mark. Uttar Pradesh has recorded 70,493 cases so far, followed by West Bengal (60,830), Telengana (57,142) and Gujarat (56,874).
