Bhubaneswar: August 01: India registered another single-day record of 57,117 new COVID Positive cases in last 24 hours. With this, total cases in the Country increased to 16,95,988. Also, 764 persons succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 36,511,the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
As per the information provided by the Ministry, 10,94,374 patients had recovered so far. In last 24 hours, 36,559 patients have recovered from the infection. Now, the recovery rate is 64.54 per cent.
5,65,103 cases are active and patients are still undergoing treatment.
Among States, Maharashtra recorded 4,22,118 cases so far, followed by Tamilnadu (2,45,859), Delhi (1,35,598), Karnataka (1,24,115), Andhra Pradesh (1,40,933), Uttar Pradesh (85,461), West Bengal (70,188), Telengana (62,703), Gujarat (61,438) and Bihar (50,233).
1,93,58,659 samples have been tested so far i.e. till July 31. Only on July 31, 5,25,689 people were tested across the country.
