New Delhi, Dec 2: Usually where politicians and Bollywood celebs hit the list of top newsmakers in the country, after the Rio Olympics Indian sports women who got crowned, hit banged all other competitors and turned up as the top newsmaker in the 2016.
In 2016, P.V. Sindhu, Sakshi Malik, Dipa Karmakar and Wrestler Vinesh Phogat made the entry in the top newsmakers list of Yahoo, said sources. These women have left cricketers much back in the “most searched sportsperson” criteria. Sachin, Dhoni and Kohli were the only to reach in the top 10 list where Sindhu at one and Karmakar takes the second spot.
While PM Modi emerged as the most searched politician, Delhi CM Kejriwal back him at number two. But for all time record holders actress Sunny Leone for the fifth consecutive year became the showstopper in the most searched female celeb category in showbiz.
