India’s COVID tally increases to 22.68 Lakh; Recovery rate improves further to 69.80 %

Bhubaneswar: August 11: India’s COVID-19 cases dip below 55,000 in last 24 hours. It has reported 53,601 new COVID-19 cases. With this, total number of cases in India increased to 22,68,929.

As per Health Ministry’s information, 871 persons succumbed to the disease in a single day, pushing death toll in the Country to 45,257. Case Fatality Rate is steadily declining and it is 1.99 % as on date as per the dashboard of Health Ministry.

6,39,429 active cases are there in the Country. So, only 4,984 cases have been added to the yesterday’ number of active cases.

In last 24 hours, 47,747 patients have recovered from the disease, pushing country’s total number of recovered cases to 15,83,489. With this, recovery rate improved further to 69.80 per cent.

Among States, Maharashtra remained the worst-hit State so far. It has more than a half-million cases till date (5,24,531) and also 18,050 people succumbed to the disease so far in the State, which is again highest among States.

Tamilnadu crossed 3 lakh-mark today and it has registered 3,02,815 cases so far and 5041 people of the State died so far due to COVID-19.

Another South Indian State Andhra Pradesh reported 2,35,525 cases in total with 2116 deaths. Cases in Karnataka is also growing rapidly. It has 1,82,354 cases so far and 3,312 persons have died in the State due the infection.

Besides, Delhi recorded 1,46,134 cases with 4,131 deaths, followed by Uttar Pradesh  with 1,26,722 cases and 2120 deaths so far.

West Bengal is nearing one lakh cases. Till date, it has registered 98,459 cases in total.

Also, Telengana is having 82,647 cases, followed by Bihar (82,550), Gujarat (72,031), Assam (61,737) and Rajasthan (53,670).
