Cuttack, Nov 18: Making judgment on the public interest litigation (PIL) filed on the Japanese Encephalities outbreak in Malkangiri, today the Orissa High Court issued notices to both the Union & State Health secretaries. The court has directed them to reply giving two weeks of time. Besides, the Malkangiri collector has also been served with a notice by the court. It may be noted that the PIL had been filed by the parents of a deceased child and a lawyer. Thus, the PIL has asked for a set up of an expert team who will find out the cause of the disease, provide free health services in affected area and also compensate the families who have lost their child.
