Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Following less number of registrations for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) main-2017, the last date of submission of application form has been extended to January 16, 2017.
After a request by the State Government as till now only 33,660 candidates have applied for the JEE exam, the decision has been taken, informed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
After it has made mandatory of Adhaar card for the registration, the number of registration has gone down. Following which, on December 24, requesting to extend time period, a letter was sent to CBSE chairperson Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi by the State Government.
On December 26, a letter to HRD Ministry was sent by the Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi stating to extend date for application submission to Jan 20.
