Kalabaisakhi makes comeback in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Kalabaisakhi rains have made their comeback in Odisha after a brief period of sizzling heat. The impact of the Kalabaisakhi rains will increase from today.

In several places, lightning and thunderstorm will be accompanied with the rains. As many as 18 districts have been issued a yellow warning for the rains by the IMD. The gusty surface wind of 40 to 50 kmph can be witnessed in these districts.

However, the IMD has clearly mentioned that the humidity in the state will remain undisturbed by the rains. Due to the rains the North central region in Odisha have experienced a temperature decrease of about 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. But the similar effect could not be seen in Southern and Central Odisha. The temperature in these places reduced only by 2 to 3 degrees making almost no impact.

The yellow warning has been issued till May 18 that is for two days. The temperature during the day for the next one week will remain the same said the Indian Meterological Department (IMD).
