Lack of security; doctors resign after patient’s family member ransacked hospital

Puri, Aug 18: Following a ransacking case at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and pointing at the Security system of the Hospital, four senior doctors of the hospital have resigned from their job on Thursday.

After this incident, to discuss regarding this incident, an important meeting is also called by the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO).

Notably, the incident happened on Wednesday night, when a heart disease patient named Nabakishore Jena, residence of Batagaon died at the hospital.  It was alleged that the reason behind the death is medical negligence. As per the sources, after Jena had been bought to the hospital, doctor declared him as dead. After that, family members of the patient, by ransacking the hospital, broke three computers, ACs, lights and oxygen cylinder and thrashed some doctors and staff.

Further investigation has been started by the Police.
