Ashish Mishra fails to appear before Crime Branch

Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and BJP leader Ajay Kumar Mishra, failed to turn up before the Lakhimpur police on Friday for questioning.

Police had summoned Ashish to appear at 10 a.m. at the crime branch office in the reserve police lines on Friday.

But he failed to reach at the given time.

Police was tracking Ashish Mishra’s mobile phone and it was showing that, he was near Gauriphanta on the Uttar Pradesh-Nepal border on Thursday. Further, it is showing, he is somewhere in Bajpura in Uttarakhand. So, he is keeping on changing his location, Police sources said.

The UP Police has arrested two people in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on Thursday where eight people were killed.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and BJP leader Ajay Kumar Mishra has been in the eye of the storm since last few days after his Son Ashish Mishra was accused of being part of a convoy that ran over a group of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri.

FIR in the case mentions Ashish Mishra’s name on charges of murder and rioting and also, it is alleged that, he sat on the passenger side of an SUV and shot at the protesters.
